Although Sarah had been practicing yoga on and off for years, it wasn’t until she became a mom that she really started to appreciate its power to “find calm in the chaos.” It quickly became her way to stay sane. She also took up a mediation practice around the same time. Yoga and mediation never crossed paths for her until one day, in a yoga class, something happened that brought a completely different feeling than she had ever experienced before – she was able to drop completely into her body, get out of her head and meditation and yoga became one. From that moment, she realized this was something pretty amazing! Throughout high school and childhood Sarah always found solace in being able to move her body to music through performing arts or variations of dance and the style of vinyasa krama yoga at Om really resonated with her mind, body and soul. She decide to take the plunge for teacher training and graduated from Om YTT in November 2021.
Outside of yoga, Sarah holds two masters degrees and has had various careers and educational backgrounds including working as a pediatric speech and language pathologist and studying applied linguistics/foreign language acquisition and ESL (English as a second language) which included teaching international students at a local university.
Sarah’s passionate about serving the local immigrant/refugee population and the Latino community and is always looking for opportunities to practice her Spanish! She is a mom of two young boys, loves all things animal related including fostering new pets and enjoys taking care of her plant babies.
On the mat, Sarah hopes to help others tune into their mind, body and spirit and find their own “calm in the chaos” showing up however they are able, giving themselves grace and a judgement free zone.
