Suzanne Nagel is a Pittsburgh based yoga instructor who was born and raised in Pittsburgh's South Hills. Growing up, Suzanne was obsessed with journal writing and dancing. After taking dance classes, Suzanne would go home and choreograph ‘sequences’ for the neighborhood kids and put on shows in the living room. From dancing to gymnastics, Suzanne loved movement. Now as a yoga instructor, Suzanne is known for her creative sequencing and transitions, as well as her yoga playlists.
After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 with a degree in English Writing, Suzanne worked as a television news producer for KDKA, and WTAE, as well as television stations in Columbus, Ohio. Her love for writing and creating continued and Suzanne eventually moved away from TV news and into Marketing. Throughout her years as a working mother, Suzanne depended on her yoga practice to sustain her physically and mentally as well as ground her. It was a natural transition to becoming a yoga instructor. Suzanne received her 200 hour yoga certification from Yoga Flow Pittsburgh and then began her advanced training taking courses in Venice, California with Kate Duyn and Mara Dana Abbott, her mentors and inspiration. Suzanne continues to study all things yoga. She brings a sense of humor to the mat and an ability to relate to her students.
Suzanne has a knack for bringing soulfulness and insight to her teaching and yet her inner feistiness and playfulness are always present. In addition to thousands of hours teaching in the studio, she has taught yoga at retreats in Tulum, Mexico and many yoga workshops, including Arm balancing & Inversions (her favorite), Hiphop yoga, Restorative yoga, donation based yoga classes, and many more. She currently resides in Pittsburgh’s East End with her two puppies, Pippa & Pepper.
