Meet
Stevie Zitkovich
Instructor, RYT 200
Stevie first discovered yoga her senior year of high school, after heavy persuasion from her mother to attend class together. She fell in love with the practice instantly, finally finding a way to move her body safely after her competitive dancing days were suddenly ended by foot, knee and hip injuries four years prior. Finding new ways to move their body, Stevie found joy in exercising again, as well as planting seeds and developing awareness not only physically, but mentally, spiritually and emotionally as well. It wasn’t long after beginning her practice that Stevie’s mother said to her, “You could do this — you could teach! You have the words!” And so, another seed was planted….
Fast forward to 2023, and you would have found Stevie coming back onto their mat after stepping away post-moving to Pittsburgh from Ohio and post-pandemic. She joined Class Pass as a way to try many different studios and yoga styles in the Pittsburgh area, but found herself drawn to The Om Lounge, always coming back for another class. Stevie loved the teachers at both studio locations, and loved the special way these classes flowed; they felt accessible yet challenging in a way she hadn’t found anywhere else in the city. A series of life events lead he to visualize a new life path, as well as her mother’s prophecy ringing in her ear, “you have the words,” and so in September of 2024, they decided to join the Om Lounge staff as a Seva as a way to deepen their connection with the community there. About a month after beginning her Seva duties and falling in more in love with this vibrant community, she felt - in her very bones - that it was *time.* She signed up for teacher training, and the rest was history! Stevie completed her 200 hour teacher training in May of 2025, and after 15 years, everything came full circle: she was certified by her favorite studio and fulfilled her (and her mother’s!) dream of being a yoga teacher.
When Stevie isn’t at the studio (which is, at this point, nearly every day), you can find her at home with her pups Misha and Koda, playing the cello at wedding ceremonies, private events and arena concerts across the Midwest, gardening in their backyard, making art, tending to their collection of over 100 indoor plants, cooking delicious meals, or reading.
